An eCheck, also known as ACH (Automated Clearing House), is a direct debit from a traveler’s bank account that is then deposited into your bank account.

If you use HomeAway Payments, offering eChecks may be an option. To allow sufficient time for the payment to be processed and ensure the funds are available by the issuing bank, eChecks payments are only available if the reservation is at least 10 days out. You cannot opt out of eChecks, however, you can indicate credit card payments as your preferred payment method in your account settings.

Both you and your traveler must have a U.S. bank account in order for an eCheck to be used and you must also be signed up with YapStone as your payment processor. Your eCheck payments are subject to a 3% processing fee by YapStone. However, there is a standard $15 fee for any eCheck that is returned for having insufficient funds, also known as a bounced check.
