What are the regulations for French overseas communities?
If you are renting a vacation rental in French Polynesia, you must declare your activity with the Tahiti Department of Tourism. This is stated under the law Country Law no. 2018-10 of 29 March 2018 regulating tourist accommodation in French Polynesia.
This law requires all homeowners of a vacation rental to declare their activity (via a form) to the City Hall, under penalty of penal sanction. This procedure has been required since October 31, 2018.
